What's the closest thing you have to a time machine?

The closest thing I have of a time machine to get back to any point of my life would be my journal. I've written every significant memory I have in those pages. I used to keep little notebooks before but they're just too tempting to other people (esp. my mom!) that's why when I got my own computer, I've decided to keep an e-journal instead. Going through my journals is like going down memory lane, and it's like going back in time sort of.

How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?

I use my own car to get me around. Although my car is generally fuel efficient, the recent spike in gas prices still affects me. Everything else is also going up. One full tank right now costs me around Php2500 and it usually lasts me around 2 weeks.

July is national ice cream month! What's your favorite flavor?

My favorite flavor doesn't have candy sprinkles on it, or marshmallows or extra glaze and whatnot, it's just a variation of a chocolate Ice cream made by a local restaurant here. I suddenly have a craving for toblerone flavored gelatto from Amici! They make their very own gelatto. The resto was very near my office when I worked at Makati before but now it's very far...huhuhu.

QotD: Childhood Memory

What is a childhood memory that still haunts you?
That would be my earliest childhood memory. I think I was about 2 years old then, my nanny was carrying me with one arm and getting hot water with the other. I don't know exactly what happened but I think she slipped and accidentally poured scalding hot water on my right thigh. I had second degree burns. I can still remember the doctors removing the burnt skin from my leg. It's all healed up now. As I grew older, the skin on my thigh got stretched and you can now hardly see the burn scar. Thankfully!

What was your random act of kindness today?

Wouldn't it be great if everyday you did one thing nice or helpful to a friend or even a complete stranger? That's what I was thinking when I submitted this question. People always talk of change, well I think the change should come from within ourselves. Performing random acts of kindness each day can make our world less harsh and more beautiful and nicer to live in.

My random act of kindness today occurred early this morning when I offered to bring my sister to the train station. I really didn't have to because she was used to commuting. I waited for her to get ready even though I knew I was going to be late for work myself. Being it a Monday, well my boss will be pissed. Nonetheless, I waited patiently. It was a good drive going to the station, we were singing along to the radio and she even took pictures while we were in traffic. I went in to work in a good mood today despite the heavy work load dumped on me yet again for the week. Hmmm I should do this more often.

What are your first thoughts upon waking?

Yay! This was the question I submitted. :-)

My first thoughts depend upon the current mood my life is in. On days that I am feeling a bit down and depressed, my first thought would be.."God please this be a good day." On good days however, I can't wait for something exciting to begin so my mind would usually be on the thing, or event or person that I'll be with that day.

Although there is one thing constant that I think of no matter what mood I'm in, it's the morning prayer I always say for my loved ones, it's the last thing I always do before I get up and start my day. As well as the last thing I do when I go to sleep at night.
